Even though one can say they are just emulating classic Japanese-style side-scrolling shooting games, it goes above and beyond that and directly into the sublime.
With retro style and unique character design, the graphics and the technology are simply incredible.
While it's long been said that Japan doesn't have indie games, recently an indie community has been born, and while spreading that fact out into the world, even a small country like Thailand has amazing indie games that can be shown to the world, and I think it is entirely appropriate to give this year's BitSummit grand prize to this project.
This award is given to the project that received the most votes among those who attended the event.

Using the classic western hack-and-slash RPG format, and fusing the culture and world views of India, here is a game that is a true original, a project that core gamers can appreciate.
It feels like a casual game straight out of India, yet it's received such great praise as something new. One could say it is has the soul of being an indie game; it's high quality stemming from the developers' commitment to being "indie". While operating as a small two-man team, they have been able to continue creating a game with such high quality, establishing a connection to their community through physical presence and friendship.
From here, they would be very pleased to increase the size of their team.
This award is given to the project with the best game design.
Presenter：Akito Inoue / Kansai University, Associate professor
As is often the case with something that tries to turn back the clock, this project is able to fully consider what makes a game a game. Stuffing chess puzzles and an action game, this shows us what making a new game genre is all about.
It feels like it has room to discover itself and its own processes, but you can feel the potential that this is the birth of a new type of game design.
This award is given to the project with the best sound.
Title：LIGHT IT Terashi Oni
Presenter：Manami Matsumae / Freelance composer
This isn't the way melodic music is usually used, however, you can now greatly enjoy music used as a sound effect.
This game uses music in a great way, the game itself has a powerful presence, we feel this product was the perfect choice to win the grand prize for sound.
This award is given to the project with the best visuals.
Presenter：Kazutoshi Iida / Game Creator
A painter who can't draw pictures combined with free art supplies; from the ruins of civilization he returns as a robot!
Limited by their weaknesses, in a stunning reversal of fate, a beautiful worldview awaits you.
The attitude surrounding this project is less a game, and more about receiving its true assessment as a piece of art.
In their previous work, a single planet that was all alone, and even places not dripping in style, it received its critique as a work of art.
This award is given to the project that had the most innovative technology/idea/etc.
Presenter：Yoshihito Kondo a.k.a GOROman / VR Creator
The best part of Pi-Po-Panic is that while adults and children alike can both enjoy the product, it's contents are a little dark, too.
At first, it looks like a simple game, but it uses an infrared light, a single-focus projector, and other innovative technologies to make it work.
This game has cute graphics, you use a UFO to steal and mess with cattle; you can destroy buildings among other things.
Its bad-boy appearance and name are also very interesting.
