BitSummit 2015 Award Winners

We’re excited to bring back the BitSummit awards this year! These awards highlight the best of Indies represented at BitSummit. Rather than dive too deeply into the philosophy of the awards, let’s let the award descriptions speak for themselves. We wish this year’s attendees the best of luck and encourage them to showcase their best!

Grand Jury

One game will rise above them all, and it will surprise, delight, or amaze us wither with its innovation or its gracefully intuitive design.

Nominees:

  • La-Murana2 (by NIGORO)
  • Down Well (by moppin)
  • Brave Yamada-kun (by Onion Games)

Winner:

  • ★ La-Murana2 (by NIGORO)

Visual Design

This award goes to the game that, for whatever reason, strikes us as being incredibly lovely to look at. The ‘best’ graphics aren’t always the most ‘excellent’ graphics, so this award could really go to the most unexpected game.

  • Legendary Warriors (by Oink Game)
  • Earth Wars (by One or Eight)

Winner:

  • ★ Vane (by Friend & Foe)

Audio Design

Our ears are listening to, and what isn’t shown is often heard, and to the game that tickles our eardrums with the most unique sound design, or the loveliest soundtrack, may just take home this prize.

Nominees:

  • Makai Picnic (by Route24)
  • 8BIT MUSIC POWER (by RIKI)
  • FD (by Hype Lyfe)

Winner:

  • ★ Makai Picnic (by Route24)

Innovation

This award will go to the game that does the most to bend convention on its ear. Will we discover a new gaming paradigm at this year’s BitSummit, or will it simply be a game that does something clever and wonderful?

  • GENSO (by shoji hibino ( AstralGate ))
  • Kapanamoon by SKT (by Flashゲーム日本代表)
