From the minute the lights came up at the end of the inaugural BitSummit—a humble but ultimately successful effort—we immediately took the enthusiasm and feedback and support gathered from the first event and set our sights on creating an even better follow-up for 2014. Many of the indie teams who joined us for BitSummit MMXIII have already experienced exciting new levels of collaboration and success over the past year. Simply speaking, BitSummit is having an effect, and we want to build on that momentum.
For BitSummit MMXIV we’ve expanded the size, the length, and the quality, with three days worth of guest speakers and musical guests, combined together in an event unlike anything ever seen.
Introducing BitSummit MMXIV's stellar line-up of guest speakers and musical superstars.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi
Speaker
The industry auteur behind critically-acclaimed games like Sega Rally, Space Channel 5, Rez, Lumines, and Child of Eden joins us to open BitSummit MMXIV with a presentation titled "Independent D.N.A.", explaining how the independent DNA can exist in any type of game development, from big budget to self-developed game creation.
Baiyon
Musician
Artist, musician, producer, DJ; Baiyon does it all. This audio-visual artist (who is the creative force behind Pixeljunk Eden and Pixeljunk 4am) will light up BitSummit with his unique electronic sensibilities.
Hiroki Omae
Speaker
Omae-san, the VP of Unity Japan, returns after last year's crowd-pleasing presentation, as the spokesperson for this BitSummit's Angel Sponsor, Unity 3D. Undoubtedly he will bring more of the same hilarious, inspiring knowledge to the indie event in his unique, inimitable style. We can't wait to see what he brings this year.
Takayuki Nakamura
Musician
This former SEGA and Dream Factory veteran founded his independent BrainStorm studio in the mid-2000s and quickly found work as an in-demand composer, creating memorable soundscrapes for the Lumines franchise. We're happy to welcome his unique electronic sound to the BitSummit MMXIV stage.
Takumi Naramura
Speaker
Naramura-san of Nigoro is the creative force behind the team responsible for the classic indie 2D platforming action game, La-Mulana. They're back with the world-debut of their upcoming game, La-Mulana 2, especially for BitSummit MMXIV.
Manami Matsumae
Musician
The composer of the original Mega Man soundtrack, this industry veteran is now applying her melodic super talents to the highly-anticipated Mighty No. 9 soundtrack, and is giving a rare performance at BitSummit. Let's give her a warm Kyoto-style welcome!
One of the new features we’re excited to introduce at BitSummit MMXIV is the addition of awards designed to highlight the show’s standout software and technology. Rather than dive too deeply into the philosophy of the awards, let’s let the award descriptions speak for themselves. We wish this year’s attendees the best of luck and encourage them to showcase their best at BitSummit MMXIV!
